Solved: Chromium Aw Snap problem under Linux openSUSE 13.1

Just a quick post for google fodder:

I'm running under Linux openSUSE 13.1 with Chromium Version 37.0.2062.94 (290621) (64-bit)

I started getting "Aw Snap" errors in the middle of September 2014. Tried all the usual fixes (disabling, enabling extensions, deleting the profile, etc.)

The error message is

[23335.702221] Media[1252]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f940df42700 sp 00007f940a73e3e8 error 4 in libffmpegsumo.so[7f940ddb3000+23a000]

Checking in yast2 sw_single I see there are two ffmeg modules:

     chromium-ffmpeg
     chromium-ffmpegsumo

The second only appears when you disable the first.

So I did, and the problem disappears. Now when I check yast2 sw_single the first has disappeared.

So it would appear that an upgrade to the ffmpeg package broke chromium, deleting the older version fixed it.

Easy when you know how.
